HOW TO GET STARTED

  • Provide a list of projects you’d like to include in the reel. I can also offer some suggestions if you’re unsure what to use.

  • Please include season and episode # for TV shows (no need for the episode title).

  • Please include a time reference if you have it or a brief description of the scene. i.e. environment, who’s in the scene, what you’re wearing and what you’re doing.

  • Any YouTube, Vimeo, website or cloud storage links of the material you already have.

  • Agency name, agent or manager name and contact info.

  • A helpful tip is also to get input from your agent as to the structure and market of the reel.  It is more common than not to see agents share input on the reel either pre or during the rough-cut stages.

Demo reels are an ever-evolving tool for actors. They are a constantly morphing view of an actor’s work, so should be kept in pace with it. They capture casting’s attention when new materials are shown and give agents something to talk about with them.
I’ve gained invaluable experience in assembling reels — finding a theme, inner-scene cutting, maintaining a flow, engagement, ideal clip length, focusing on the actor, etc.  The reels range from beginners to established series leads mostly based in LA, Vancouver and Toronto.
