Having already been cast as Ezekiel, a fallen angel on The CW’s ninth season of ‘Supernatural’ this fall, ‘Battlstar Glactica’ and ‘Dollhouse’ alum, Tahmoh Penikett won’t be relaxing anytime soon.  Instead, he will transition over to a second CW series, the mid-season replacement ‘Star-Crossed.’

‘Star-Crossed’ sounds similar to cult hit ‘Roswell,’ describing a romance between an Atrian (alien) boy, Roman (Matt Lanter, ‘90210’) and a human girl, Emery (Aimee Teegarden, ‘Friday Night Lights’) who are reunited after initially meeting as children during the first alien landing.  The aliens were rounded up and locked in an internment camp, only to be released as teens and allowed to attempt to acclimate into a regular high school.  Judging by the title, ‘Romeo and Juliet’ will serve as an inspiration for the series.

Penikett will play Officer Jack Beaumont, who appears to be in charge of patrolling these internment camps as an agent of the  SEU (Sector Enforcement Unit).  His first appearance will be in the show’s second episode and recur after that.

No word on how he’ll juggle both shows.  Perhaps his part on ‘Supernatural’ is only for a limited number of episodes, or perhaps the fact that that show kicks off earlier will allow him to film all of his scenes, before jetting off to appear on ‘Star-Crossed.’

Earlier this month, Jonathan Schaech (‘Ray Donovan’) was added to the cast, portraying Roman’s uncle, a former rebel leader-turned politician.

‘Star-Crossed’ launches midseason on the CW.  Below is one early promotional image featuring the show’s two leads, Teegarden and Lanter.
