Beau Bridges Cast in USA's "White Collar"

Beau-BridgesStargate star Beau Bridges has been cast in a major guest role as FBI Agent Peter Burke’s mentor in the USA network hit White Collar, according to a TV Guide exclusive:

Bridges, 69, will play Agent Kramer, a well-decorated federal officer and art expert who instructed Peter (Tim DeKay) when he trained at Quantico. Kramer has been Peter’s mentor ever since, and his paternal nature offsets his intimidating presence.

The three-time Emmy winner begins shooting Tuesday on the episode, titled “Countdown.” It will air Aug. 9 and serve as White Collar’s midseason finale.

White Collar just started its 16-episode third season on June 7. The show’s main page at USANetwork.com gives its premise:

White Collar is about the unlikely partnership of a con artist and an FBI agent who have been playing cat and mouse for years. Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer), a charming criminal mastermind, is finally caught by his nemesis, FBI Agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay.)

When Neal escapes from a maximum-security prison to find his long-lost love, Peter nabs him once again. Rather than returning to jail, Neal suggests an alternate plan: He’ll provide his criminal expertise to assist the Feds in catching other elusive criminals in exchange for his eventual freedom. Initially wary, Peter quickly finds that Neal provides insight and intuition that can’t be found on the right side of the law.

White Collar co-stars Stargate SG-1 guest star Willie Garson (Martin Lloyd, “Point of No Return,” “Wormhole X-Treme,” and “200”) as Mozzie, Neal’s “most trusted friend and co-conspirator.” TV Guide recently announced that another SG-1 veteran, Ernie Hudson (Commander Pernaux, “Ethon”), will be guest starring as Mozzi’s childhood mentor.

White Collar airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on USA.
